What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens for their beauty and tranquility, highlighting the stunning variety of plants in both the indoor greenhouses and expansive outdoor grounds. Many appreciate the free admission and the peaceful atmosphere, making it a delightful escape. Some minor points of feedback include a desire for more dinosaur-themed exhibits in a specific room and the campus feeling quieter on weekends.
"What a beautiful garden! We parked in the spot by the nursery and immediately to our right was a beautiful orchid room with two levels. The whole building is much bigger than it looks and when you’re done there’s a brick sidewalk trail that takes you directly to the gardens! The gardens are huge (10 acres total if i believe so) but take a straight left and you can see the new tea house and their lovely pond filled with fish! Definitely coming back, had a great day with my mom and friends!"

"Gorgeous themed greenhouses and grounds. I could spend so many hours here! It's easy to assume the trails might be less impressive than the greenhouses, but they are beautiful and expansive in their own right. I especially enjoyed the Asian Garden and the Tropical Room inside the McMillan Greenhouse. I can only imagine how cool it would be as a local student to visit this wonderful place all the time!"

"The rooms are cool. Definitely an overwhelm for the senses... In the best way though! I would like to see more dino stuff in that particular room...
When you cross the street to the outdoor gardens, it's like you're in another world. Very relaxing and grounding. Little surprises throughout... Added Plus, you can rent the space for pics or a wedding etc.. great way to get it done on a budget, ijs. Very shaded and organic in its layout. Not the very pristine, super manicured deal, but beautiful all the same."
