"UVA’s campus is beautiful, but the academical village is extraordinary. As a lover of historical architecture I was in heaven. Imagine being immersed in perfect architectural form and function- everywhere you look is beauty so well thought out and planned. Just gorgeous. I also make special not that UVA has taken great care to acknowledge and reflect on the significant contributions of the enslaved people that built and whose labor ran the campus. Even offering a tour of enslaved peoples, memorials to and buildings dedicated to their efforts. This, for me, is important and I, as a history buff, very much appreciate the inclusion- it makes the experience layered, complex and real.
I am planning a trip back to the area- and cannot wait!"

"Beautiful architecture, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The rotunda is worth a tour, take time to walk the Lawn and gardens with Jefferson's signature serpentine walls. Visit the Corner for lunch and consider staying at The Boar's Head and visitinf Monticello and local vineyards if you have a weekend..."

"Definitely a must see when in town. It is still an actual library and there is a lot of places to sit and relax while enjoying the view of the dome. The curved walls throughout are amazing."
