What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Chesterfield Sports Complex for its exceptionally well-maintained baseball and football fields, making it a top choice for youth sports in the St. Louis area. The convenient parking and the added bonus of a walking trail are also frequently highlighted. However, some guests note that concessions and restrooms could be more conveniently located, and the complex's strictness regarding rain can lead to frustrating delays or cancellations.
"Chesterfield Baseball Park is a solid facility for travel baseball and a great spot for families. The fields were in good shape, with well-kept grass and dirt, and the park layout made it easy to get from field to field without much walking. Parking was convenient and close to the entry points, which were clearly marked and easy to find.
The bathrooms were clean, which is always appreciated during long tournament days. Concessions were simple but good, and the location is close to plenty of restaurants and stores if you want to step away between games.
One of the highlights of the park is the walking and biking trail that runs along the levee behind the fields. It’s a nice bonus for getting some movement in between games or letting younger siblings stretch their legs.
The overall atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, and while not everything about the event was perfect - there are others with more organized operations -
1. Communication from perfect game was delayed and weak — Rain delays happen but to finish playing with storms and games cancelled from 4pm through evening and not get an update for 6 hours w game times at 10:45pm is troubling - most large venues have structures in place for how a tourney will go regardless of scenarios.
2. Operation and umpire support - this tournament, most of our games had one very seasoned , kind, respectful umpire complimented by one who was learning - which we understood but other teams could be a bit difficult on missed calls and while their behavior is on them ~~> this is not on the umps but other parks have more operational enforcement to nip that behavior by adults / remove from the park etc — it shouldn’t be on the ump to handle. If a coach doesn’t handle it, it’s helpful to have a third party from operations to say “that’s not tolerated here , bye” -
the park itself has all the key features needed for hosting higher-end youth baseball. We’d definitely return."

"We use this facility for a flag football league. The most positive part of this facility are the fields. The fields are in great shape, but they are strict on rain, so when it rains you can expect to either be delayed or probably cancelled for the day. We had multiple rainouts because it rained in the morning and even the grass fields were considered unplayable. The restrooms are decent and there is ample parking spots for even very busy weekend days. I will still consider this sports complex to be one of the better places in all of St. Louis."
