ONE DAY in St. Louis... what to do?

I am definitely not from St. Louis. In fact, I know nothing about it. But I will be there on business, and will have approximately 24 hours to "experience the city". Please help me make the most of it. 1. What should I eat for dinner? 2. What should I eat for breakfast? 3.…

Unusual, non-touristy experiences for a visitor?

My friend is coming to town, and, instead of only doing the standard visitor activities (the Arch, museums, brewery), I also want to show him some true St. Louis experiences—like a late night east side trip capped off at Uncle Bill’s, or running red lights and dodging potholes…

Vintage/Retro vacation recommendations in St Louis?

My family and I are traveling to the St Louis area on vacation-- we plan on hitting up all the major museums/kids attractions, but can any natives think of off the beaten track "retro" attractions? It could be anything from restaurants to shopping to actual museums/roadside…

Reviews Summary

Visitors appreciate Faust Historic Village for its well-maintained historic buildings and the dedication of its volunteers. It offers a pleasant stroll through a bygone era, with an online guide enhancing the experience. However, some visitors note disappointment when interior access is limited, wishing for more opportunities to explore the inside of the homes. Reddit

"The buildings here are well taken care of after being saved from demolition for new development of the land they formerly stood on. I was at the open house they have on the weekend and the volunteers that they had were helpful in showing what life was like and in informing people about the history of the buildings. It is also nice to just walk through it. While you do that there is an online guide to the buildings on the County Park website that is interesting."

Justin King

"This "village" is a collection of old buildings, most of which were donated to the St. Louis County Parks and relocated from various places around St. Louis. They include houses, a school building, a barn, a blacksmith shop, and other structures. Makes for a fun stroll."

Frecky Lewis

"This tiny village of homes and buildings (in Faust Park in Chesterfield) from the 1850+ shows the simplicity of life and its fundamental agrarian nature. Sadly none of the buildings are open to view, so you miss the most important part of life in this era. Nonetheless, a pleasant stroll through days gone by."
