What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are consistently impressed by the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center, particularly its stunning drone shows and the opportunity to tour the facilities where Olympic and Paralympic athletes train. The well-maintained grounds and beautiful views are frequently praised. However, some find parking and limited on-site amenities like food and shade to be drawbacks.
"We watched an amazing drone show accompanied with live string music. The drone imagery was magical and synced perfectly with the music. We loved this event. We felt bad for the people sitting in VIP because they had to sit on the lawn."

"I was surprised to know that I only have three miles from the Chula Vista Training Center which is I remember correctly was built for the 1984 Olympics this facility is beautiful and well maintained. I was there for the annual police department and responders awards ceremony that benefited the police foundation. I was invited by my friend Bill Falco who was rescued, by our local Chula Vista Police Officer Ronnie and others. The First Responders were being honored for their unbelievable and incredible work. They saved my friend Bill Falco he would not be here today as his heart completely stopped and although they kept working on him when he got to the hospital he was DOA but finally responded. Had it not been for the technology that the police department developed for their 911 calls an officer Ronnie he would not be here today. There were many booths showing our wonderful canines, SWAT team, you could see inside a police car and a motorcycle was on display as well as the new drone technology that the foundation was able to purchase several that are used daily thousands of times. Our own newscaster Kimberly was there as MC they had a great auction which raised money and our own chief of police spoke as well kudos for a wonderful evening and money raised for a wonderful cause. I have to say I'm so proud of our Chula Vista Police Department and all the responders Fire Department, paramedics and those that work tirelessly behind the scenes."

"This review is only for the high school beach volleyball area. They have enough courts available to host about 4 schools at one time. I would recommend bringing your own chair. They do have a set of metal bleachers on the bluff above the courts, but they are placed far off to the right side only giving a good view of some of the courts. The sand could use a bit of leveling. There are two portable bathrooms down by the players’ area. There is ample parking right next to the sand area, but we are not allowed to park there. Spectators must park at the top near the main entrance and hike down. There is a slight hill you need to walk up on the return. There is one water fountain available, but no food or vending machines nearby.
Pros: handicap accesible, amazing views, accommodates many games at one time
Cons: parking, no shade for spectators unless you sit down on the players’ bleachers, no food/drinks for sale"
