A day trip on Route 66 exploring the Will Rogers Museum and the Green Country Cafe.

The JM Davis Museum in Claremore is also really fascinating. It's more than just a ton of antique firearms, they also have some cool World war II propaganda and some local Claremore history stuff. Currently there's a Roy Clark exhibit on loan from manager Jim Halsey too.

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Claremore Museum of History for its free admission and the wealth of information packed into its small space. The friendly staff and unique exhibits, including a Moon Tree and tributes to local heroes, are frequently highlighted as positives. Some visitors note it's a quick visit, ideal for an hour-long exploration.

"A lot of people have heard of Will Rogers and know he is from Oklahoma and many even know he was from Claremore. This museum is in the former Will Rogers Library ( built in 1936 and in the National Register of Historic Buildings) in Claremore and although it is small it packs a lot of information into a small space. Admission is free. It has very informative displays that combine descriptive text with interesting artifact displays. Some of the most interesting information is about prominent people who grew up in Claremore including Patti Page and Apollo 14 Command Module pilot Stuart Roosa, and Donnie Johnson the first black Oklahoma State Trooper. The museum is not huge, you can go through the whole museum reading most of the displays in an hour or less.
Outside the museum is a garden with a playground for young children and what I found even cooler is they have a Moon Tree, descended from seeds taken to the moon on Apollo 14 on the grounds.
If you are in the area this museum is well worth a stop."

"Didn't get a good look around. It was just an in and out moment. Some neat stuff around. Definitely need to make another trip out here to explore this place. The lady at the front desk was friendly and nice."
