Today we stepped back in time during the Victorian Tea Party at the Fort Defiance Civil War Park & Interpretive Center where beloved local historian, Carolyn Ferrell, guided us through proper tea etiquette. We made new friends while celebrating history, beauty and art in Clarksville. So much fun! 💖 📷 @d_c_thomas / Clarksville Living Magazine #ClarksvilleLivingMagazine #ClarksvilleTN #Friends...

Some visitors note that the fort itself is overgrown, but the overall experience is considered a valuable historical and scenic outing.

"Small but interesting museum with a walking trail and very nice view over Clarksville. Our guide was very nice. We watched a 29 minute film, toured the exhibit and checked out the small research library. We walked some of the trail, also. We enjoyed it."

"Full Review:
Love this walking trail!
Wheel chair accessible, however, here’s a good amount of hills. So be mindful, not for a beginner to roll, nor low batteries.
90% or more of the trail is in shade. You will come out in a neighborhood. There you have 0.2 miles to walk on a neighborhood road with no sidewalk nor shade. But it’s not busy.
The trail is well kept, the people are very courteous and friendly. This is a wonderful piece of history for Clarksville TN. Be sure to enjoy the view of the city at the start and read he historical signs.
For moderate walkers, the trail takes around 15-20 minutes."

Anthonie Messer (F&AM)

"Beautiful park to walk the trail and learn some history of the area. Understanding the thoughts and activities of those in history gives us deeper insights to ourselves. Great restoration effort and quaint gift shop with stunning views across the river valley."
