What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Yonah Mountain is praised for its challenging yet rewarding hike, offering incredible summit views and unique geological features. While the steady incline is demanding, visitors find the panoramic vistas and the summit's bald clearing well worth the effort. The trail can be busy, especially on weekends, and parking fills quickly, so an early start is advised.
"Such a nice hike. Plenty of parking and the trail is well traveled and well marked. Theres also lots of space to go rock climbing if you want as well as a campsite. The view is gorgeous at the top, I stayed and watched the sun set and did some stargazing before hiking back down with a flash light and saw a copper head on the way down which was cool."

"Great elevation change for an enjoyably challenging hike. Takes about 1 hour to reach the top. Lots to see along the way, the rocks and boulders scattered everywhere are just incredible! Stopping to check out the rocks, moss, etc might make the total trip upwards of 3 hours, there is so much beauty to see.
They are a lot of cut trails, but the blaze trail is clearly marked and easy to follow.
I like that there are several different scenic areas to stop and look, so you get a lot of visual pleasure along the way. It’s so cool to see pink mountain to close by at the top. It’s very close/ connected to Yonah, as opposed to distant mountain scenery at other overlooks up the trail.
The “bald” at the top is so cool. No trees, just a natural field on the mountain top."

"A lot of rock formations along the trail and is mostly scattered with rocks, tree roots and gravel so wear comfy hiking shoes. Moderately difficult to climb but the views on top are definitely worth it. We’ve seen older people and people with babies, kids, dogs along the trail as well as people who have camped in the area. Took us an hour to get to the top and less than that going back down."
