While the steady incline is demanding, visitors find the panoramic vistas and the summit's bald clearing well worth the effort. "Great elevation change for an enjoyably challenging hike. Takes about 1 hour to reach the top. Lots to see along the way, the rocks and boulders scattered everywhere are just incredible! Stopping to check out the rocks, moss, etc might make the total trip upwards of 3 hours, there is so much beauty to see.
They are a lot of cut trails, but the blaze trail is clearly marked and easy to follow.
I like that there are several different scenic areas to stop and look, so you get a lot of visual pleasure along the way. It’s so cool to see pink mountain to close by at the top. It’s very close/ connected to Yonah, as opposed to distant mountain scenery at other overlooks up the trail.
The “bald” at the top is so cool. No trees, just a natural field on the mountain top."

"Overall, it was an excellent hike. Prepare for a steady incline on this hike, even on the switchbacks. It was not too crowded at the top, but many people were on this trail. I did not see much wildlife, but a group of deer at the top and a snake slithering across the gravel path. The only restrooms I saw were at the parking lot and by the army campground. I was just enjoying time out in nature."

"Well worth the hike. Gorgeous mountain views at the top of the trail. There is a bathroom in the parking area and army site close to the top. A lot of elevation gain. The hike up is the hardest part. Take your time, drink plenty of water, and rest when needed. Bring a snack or a lunch to enjoy at the top while taking in the sights. This is a busy trail on the weekends. I recommend arriving early. I arrived at 9am on a Sunday and the parking lot was already half full. When I made it to the top there wasn't much people traffic at that time. On the way down, around 11am, there was lines of people hiking up. By the time I made it back to the parking lot it was full and cars was parked along the gravel road leading to the parking lot."
