What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the private, off-leash dog-friendly beaches and charming forest trails at Clay Myers State Natural Area. The peaceful camping experience, abundant wildlife, and stunning stargazing opportunities are frequently praised. However, some find the sandy trails challenging, and the small parking lot can be an issue.
"If you want to enjoy a private walk with your dogs off-leash on a sandy beach, you should visit this place. Although it's not as grand as Setka Sedge, walking through the charming forest paths and feeling the freedom on the beautiful sandy beach is a frequent joy, though this is my first time leaving a review.
It's a place where you can simply walk, talk, enjoy the scenery, and bond with your dogs. Crossing the bridge to explore the connected campsite is also enjoyable. The landscape changes significantly depending on the weather and time of day. The parking lot is very small, but there are restrooms available. I didn't give it an extra star because there are no benches for the views and no visible trash cans.
The total length of the trail course is about 1.7 miles."

"This place is AMAZING! My husband and I stayed here two nights for a much needed break. Lots of waterfowl to watch, glorious views of stars and the beach area was beautiful!
Each site has it's own picnic table, fire pit and a place to put up your tent or park your camper. The woman who runs the camping was super friendly.
It was a wonderful experience. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!"
