Tubbs Hill • This is such a little gem to have right in the heart of downtown Coeur d'Alene. We love this little hike. It's perfect with kids when you want to take them to the park or get ice cream but also spend time in nature. The variety here is the absolute BEST. We can swim at any of the little rocky beaches surrounding the loop and it's an easy 1 mile hike. McEwen Park, the library, and the ...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Tubbs Hill for its stunning lake views and accessible, easy trails, making it a beloved spot for a scenic walk or a refreshing dip in the water. Its prime downtown location is a major advantage, offering a natural escape right in the city. Some find the parking fee a minor inconvenience, and during peak times, trails can get a bit crowded.

"Beautiful spot for a walk as I was traveling through! Right by the lake, so people can swim, also by the cruise docks where you can take a 90 minute or so long cruise to learn about the lake, has picnic areas, nice side walk and walking trails, best park bathrooms I've ever used, pet friendly, and has food truck space. Someone had their pizza truck there when I went. Right by a resort, so you can stay there and walk to the park if you'd like. Very kid friendly, as they have a large playground area that is also fenced in to prevent kids from wandering away. By the lake, so you can swim, too!
Must pay to park, though. $2/hr. (Unless you stay at the resort, they have their own valet parking)."

Tami Jo Redinger

"Tubbs Hill was fun to hike. The views were amazing, and there were many critters wandering around, which added to the experience. I would recceomend family's to hike this trail as it is very easy and gets a good workout in for the day."

Megan Eck

"Beautiful hike along the lake. Takes around one hour with lots of photo stops. Easy hike along a dirt path, some rocks, and some muddy sections after a rain. There is also a beach not far down the trail if you go counter clockwise!"
