Cahokia Mounds things to do?
I remember visiting Cahokia Mounds when I was a kid and loved it. Was planning on taking my own there but most of last year and still on their site it shows visitors center closed. I can’t remember is there much there to do now outside of Monks Mound and Calendar?

"Waited 25 years to finally visit, and was not let down. The museum was very informative and I enjoyed some of the hands on exhibits. Climbing the stairs to Monks Mound was not fun in the heat, but it wasn't too bad. The view was AMAZING. I definitely would encourage people to visit at least once if they are in the area."

"A fantastic modern museum, large and packed with great displays and lots of information. There are interactive displays for the children and it’s a real visual feast. There is a video shown with info too. The gift shop has good books with more info about the site and the Mississippian people who built and inhabited it. Right outside is are the ancient main mounds and plaza. You should really go hear before seeing the mounds to get a better idea of what exactly you are looking at. The staff are incredibly helpful and nice. The bathrooms are clean and modern."
