If you visit on a peak weekend or holiday, it's hard to find parts of @strattonresort where there aren't others around you. Like all mountains in southern Vermont, Stratton sees variable conditions throughout the season thanks to varying temperatures and mediocre natural snow accumulation. The resort does see a few powder days each season, but runs tend to lack cover or get icy after sudden tempe...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Stratton Open Space for its beautiful scenery, easy accessibility, and dog-friendly nature. Many highlight it as a favorite trail for its peaceful atmosphere and stunning views of Colorado Springs. The main drawback currently is the closure of the reservoirs for repairs, impacting picnic and water access, but the extensive trail network still offers a rewarding experience.

"This is such a beautiful trail. Easy access, not a lot of people, wide trail space, and the most amazing views. Only downside is the construction on the 2 ponds next to each other. Both are currently gated & 1 is entirely dried up. Other than that, this is my favorite trail in Colorado Springs."

"Me and my friend did a weekend trip to Colorado Springs. We started off with all the tourist hikes. Incline, zip line, garden of gods, red rocks. We brought our dog with and after a weekend of go go go, omg this was the PERFECT Sunday easy walk. We had so many laughs and there were so many things to see from cool rocks, plants I’ve never seen and animals. It really felt like I was in lord of the rings walking this meadow lol. It was even better with light rain and clouds. It was magical. I’d run this trail everyday if I lived there. This was by far by favorite over all hike we did."

Jasmine Maxwell

"I work for a summer camp, and this park is great for biking or to take groups hiking and hammocking. Great view of downtown Colorado Springs while you’re hiking!

Amazing spot for outdoor education since the trails are not difficult and easy for most children. Definitely kid-friendly. I also saw several people walking their dogs here.

This park used to have a dog beach at the reservoir, which is currently closed for repairs. I hope they bring it back soon!"
