What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Cape Arago Pack Trail for its breathtaking Pacific Ocean views and opportunities to hear sea lions. While the trail can be challenging and signage is sometimes lacking, the stunning scenery and unique coastal experience make it a worthwhile destination for hikers and photographers alike.
"A beautiful outlook across the Pacific Ocean. The weather was heavy overcast and dreary when I went, but that should be expected in this part of the Northwest Coast. The views were beyond beautiful, and well worth driving to just to hear the ocean batter the cliffs below."
Steven Meyer
"The trailhead wasn’t marked. From this point on the map take the western most bridge across the creek and follow the trail until you see a trail heading up the hill in the left. At the top you can follow a trail to the point at the top of the headland. There is a nice bench there. Then, back track from the headland until you see the trail heading south along the bluff. That’s the trail to Cape Arago.
From here you can sometimes hear the sea lions barking from all the way down the trail at Cape Arago. This trail is a gorgeous day hike."
Nancy Samuels
"This trail offered the best viewpoint of Qochyax Island, Gregory Point and Cape Argo lighthouse that I could find. It is a pretty flat trail that hugged the coast line so the views where great. At some points side trails lead to beach access, but many looked challenging. Norton Gluch trail looked like the easiest access, but Sunset Beach is the most inviting beach in the area."
