"Another Colorado discovery! It seems to be geared for mountain biking but there are MILES of trails, a pond for we birdwatchers, views. Bring lots of water and it does get hot. The vegetation is outstanding, plenty of parking, a porta potty, a bench to sit and collect your thoughts. Close to Cortez."

"A beautiful memorial to for Spc. Geer. Great for mountain biking, running, hiking though it's in full sun so plan accordingly. Trails are well marked and maps are dispersed regularly throughout. Distance can be easily lengthened or shortened to your preference. Inner trails have more relief. Connects to Carpenter Natural Area and easily accessible by/to town. Some plants are labeled and there's a magnificent display of flowers this spring. A very nice memorial and plaque for a local veteran is here. Trails are not handicap accessible but the plaque is, if you'd like to visit it."

"Many trails to walk or bike. Look close and you will see Anasazi village sites. Broken shards of old ancient pottery. From the top part you can imagine the whole town of Cortez being a huge village."
