Is this west of Curicanti before Hwy 92 turns south heading towards Crawford? We’re heading that way next summer, and my husband is fascinated with this kind of geologic formation. Can you help us identify where to stop along the road to see this spectacular rock face?

"The best viewpoint of the canyon. You can see right upriver as well as the striations on the north rim. A short trail from the parking lot."

"Probably our favorite stop and viewpoint in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. There is a fairly easy short dirt trail from the parking area, which loops around from the Chasm View Point, to Painted Wall View point. From the rim to the river, the Painted Wall is 2,250 feet tall. The tallest vertical cliff in the state of Colorado. This is the most iconic view in the park and a must see while you are in the park."

"This is one of the most iconic vistas of the Black Canyon National Park. A must see! The view gives a different angle from Chasm View to Dragon Point but this overlook us a true masterpiece of God's great creation. If you make one hike in the park, this is the one you need to make."
