What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning beauty of Welti Falls, calling it one of Alabama's prettiest waterfalls, especially after rain. The main drawbacks are the extremely limited parking and the overgrown, poison-ivy-prone trail, making it less accessible for some. Despite these issues, many find the breathtaking views well worth the brief inconvenience.
"This place is so beautiful!! It really is right off the road. As many have said parking is very limited, however, you don't need to be hiking for hours to get to the falls. So most people don't stay very long and parking has a reasonably high turn over rate. There is a small trail behind the guard rail that loops around. It is not very accessible for those in a wheel chair, however, it can be somewhat accessible if you have some good strong help and a little creativity and patience, some luck and a stroller that is able to do some mild off-road. Just be very careful if you step off the path as the whole area behind the guard rail is completely overrun by poison ivy. We were lucky because we went in the early spring before the poison ivy exploded. So just watch out and make sure you scrub down with soap really good (like 4 times at least) when you get home. Also better to wear long pants and long sleave shirt. This is not so easy when its 90-deg or hotter outside, like the summer time. Also its better if you can go when its been raining for a few days. When I took these photos it had been raining all week long. So just be aware of what the weather has been or is doing before your planned visit."

"One photo was taken on June 7, 2025, before heavy rain. The other photo was taken on June 14 after heavy rain. The view is incredible from the road. Parking is very limited."

"Man, the beauty is so worth having to park on someone's curb... it was a bit challenging with 2 small kids (7 and 5) to get down to the bottom, and they wouldn't climb up the falls. But it is so breathtaking. There's not really a trail due to the surrounding area being developed into a suburb (ugh). But we go back every year!"
