What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Celestial Park is a unique and peaceful neighborhood green space, lauded for its poetic steps and human sundial. While parking is limited and amenities are scarce, visitors appreciate its tranquil atmosphere, shaded trails, and well-maintained grounds, making it a favored spot for quiet contemplation and dog walking.
"Don’t let the neighborhood feel of this park deter you, this is a PUBLIC space and a fantastic one at that!
The park is pretty large with multiple levels, large grass and shaded areas. The walking trail is mostly shaded and the large grass area is great for sports, picnics, etc in general the cooler months.
Parking is limited with 5 or so parallel spot, but there is more parking down the street at the church.
The park has plenty of dog bags and trash cans and the park is nearly spotless. The people here are usually walking their dogs or chilling and talking on the benches.
Highly recommended visiting here, especially in the cooler weather"

"Great to see the park is the same after last seeing it 30 years ago. Sundial is great, but make sure to visit with 2 people and each stand at 1 end each. You will hear the other person echo when speaking and nothing else."

"This is my first 'real time' review as I sit here in the park. It's a nice enough spot but I don't think I'd call it a park as that, to me, implies public use for multiple activities, and this appears to be mainly a spot to walk your dog. I've been here about an hour and I've seen four dogs, some cleaned up after, some not. The walking trail is short but well paved and you're definitely going to feel safe even if walking after dark. I'm sure during the warm days in Dallas this area is used for gatherings but again, I'd be careful to check for presents left in the grassy areas. It is well maintained, there are some nice flowers planted, the poetry is a nice touch and there are no public bathrooms. Lastly, I was only able to find one area to park which holds about 4 cars, so I'm not sure where people park when it's crowded. There are plenty of no parking signs on the upscale adjacent properties, so I'm guessing they may park anywhere along the roadside."
