Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise The Sixth Floor Museum for its tasteful and comprehensive presentation of JFK's assassination and presidency. The exhibits are highly informative, offering a deep dive into the historical context and events. While some find the seating uncomfortable and the content emotionally heavy, the overall experience is considered deeply moving and educational, with many recommending advance ticket purchase.

"Great exhibit and done very tastefully for the family members. I enjoyed watching all of the clips showcased from his time in office to the current events that were happening during the time of his presidency. The exhibit does make it a point to show that their are holes in certain points of history as to how the murder of the President was handled towards the end of the tour. Staff was very kind and helpful and any questions I had during the visit was answered. Theres currently an addition to the exhibit based on the children's drawings that remembered the event a year later and illustrated it with their audio recordinsg from the documentary playing in the foreground. Its adds dimension to the tragedy that took place by showing how even the innocence of a child can be affected and slightly aware of the loneliness and ugliness of this loss. I particularly enjoyed the documentary in the seated room that described the composer who had created an ensemble for this tragic day (with his stringed accompiment)- mind you those seats were hard wood and almost none of the chairs within the facility have cushion so be warned if you can not stand for long periods of time. Restrooms were clean as well and the gift shop was reasonable priced."

"Wow does this museum have a lot to offer! The exhibits are very descriptive and informational. Instead of trying to grab your attention, they inform you and provide a lot of detail for those who are interested in the entire picture. The museum provides context around the assassination and not just the details of the event itself. Furthermore, they use a variety of mediums to convey the information, including videos and photos and objects. Tickets are a bit pricy, but worth the price. I did not pay for my tickets in advance, but it was super easy to pay for them ahead of time. Heads up: drinks aren’t allowed in the museum, but they will let you keep them with you as long as they are kept closed."

Reed Hunsicker

"We went during the week early afternoon and there was no waiting. There is a bus tour that goes through so you may have to wait to read detailed explanations of events. It was a very informative exhibit. I would definitely recommend going to 7th floor to see children’s pictures and video of event. It takes you through the event from a child’s perspective. We went outside afterwards and took pictures of the two “x”’s in front where JFK was shot. I didn’t realize it wasn’t that big of an area. You can see where the trains run behind the building. I would definitely recommend going to this place."
