Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Salem Village Witchcraft Victims Memorial a beautiful yet somber tribute to a tragic historical event. Its location in Danvers, the original Salem Village, adds significant historical weight. While parking can be challenging, the impact of reading the victims' names and quotes makes it a must-see for understanding the full scope of the 1692 hysteria. TikTokReddit

"A beautiful monument for such a tragic circumstance. Like the Village Parsonage it has a very somber feel around the area. The last words of the victims etched into the stone are very impactful and sobering to read. I do love that people still leave offerings of remembrance to the victims on the monument. Even with those items it is very well kept and taken care of. There was no one else there when I visited so I got to take my time reading and taking everything in."

"A MUST SEE IN SALEM AREA!! This is actually in Danvers, but go see it."

"I'm a Salem resident and I am on a mission to tour all the local attractions AND places of relevance.

About this one:

This tribute to the victims of 1692 was built just across the street from the original location of the Meeting House where Reverend Samuel Parris (and his predecessors) preached and many of the accused were examined at the beginning of the witchcraft hysteria.

Its location and all the history behind are what makes this memorial of remarkable historical relevance.

While the memorials in Salem are somewhat minimalist, this one in Danvers (Salem Village at the time) is more traditionally monumental. Inscribed in granite, you can find the list of the 25 victims and some of their quotes, to never forget.

Just fyi, you cannot park nor really pull over on the street where the memorial is located.
This area is residential and not designed for tourism.
It makes sense to visit this site - in my opinion - if you are already in the area to visit also other important sites in Danvers connected with the Salem Witch Trials, as the Salem Village Parsonage or the Rebecca Nurse Homestead."
