While admission is considered a bit steep by some, the ability to purchase sunflowers and enjoy the scenic beauty is a major draw. "$8 a person. A little on the steep side IMHO, but u do get to bring 10 sunflowers back with you.
The closest field to the parking lot had seen better days, but the further u walked the nicer the flowers got.
It was a great time to be out amongst the plants. Walking was reasonably easy and the flowers were accessible.
Saw lots of couples, young kids w/ families, and boomers - Clearly this has appeal for all ages!!
Lots of bees... so be careful if you are allergic."

"$8 per person and luckily we came here (October 18) the last week before they cut all the sunflowers down for the season. They let us cut and take some sunflowers home, but if we had come just to walk around I am not sure paying $8 per person just to walk around would have been worth it. The family was amazing. Beautiful place, miles of sunflowers and a creek. Great way to spend the day here and going to some wineries around."

"This is a very large sunflower farm. The cost is $8 per person to walk around the sunflower farm. There are benches placed around the farm for sitting. There is a small slide and tire climbing area for kids. Photo op areas include a tractor, an old truck, and a Fausett Farms sign. Gift shop has a few shirts and honey for sale. Restrooms on site are porta potties. Our family spent about an hour walking around, taking pictures, and enjoying the beauty of the sunflowers."

The Fleeting Beauty of Sunflowers
While the farm is beautiful, it's important to manage expectations regarding 'u-pick' opportunities. Fausett Sunflower Farm is primarily for viewing and photography, with sunflowers available for purchase at their market. Some visitors have noted that while they can't pick themselves, flowers are harvested for sale, and the quality of these can sometimes be inconsistent. Nevertheless, the sheer visual impact of the fields makes it a worthwhile destination for nature lovers and photographers alike.
Beyond the sunflowers, the farm offers a charming country store where you can find local honey, beeswax products, and souvenirs. This adds another layer to the farm experience, allowing visitors to take a piece of the local flavor home with them. The presence of bees is also a notable aspect, reminding visitors of the natural ecosystem at play.
Capturing the Golden Hour: Photography at Fausett Farms
For the best photographic results, consider visiting during the 'golden hour' – shortly after sunrise or before sunset. The soft, warm light at these times can dramatically enhance the colors of the sunflowers and create a magical atmosphere. Weekday mornings are also ideal for photographers seeking fewer crowds and more freedom to compose their shots without obstruction.
Remember to be respectful of the flowers and other visitors while taking photos. While the farm welcomes photography, avoid trampling the flowers or blocking popular photo spots for extended periods. The natural beauty of the fields, combined with the available props, ensures that almost any angle will yield a beautiful photograph.
