Reviews Summary

War Hill Park is highly praised for its beautiful lakefront setting, clean facilities, and friendly staff. Visitors love the safe swimming beach, convenient boat ramp, and the unique island campsites. While generally peaceful, the park can get busy during peak times, and the 10 PM gate closure requires planning.

"Very nice park with a safe beach & swimming area that is roped off with buoys and a private camping area adjacent to the boat ramp and beach area. Multiple private sites with private parking loops just off the main drive that have metal picnic tables. Each area has fire pit & grills. Note: you must provide wood & charcoal. 2 week camping limit. Great for use for the day. I didn't see unpaved area for setting up a tent near to table areas so not sure about wear to camp exactly. Well shaded which was nice. See photo's."

"Site 7 - Tent (Accommodates both RV + Tent). My accommodations measured 15FT Length x 11FT Wide and fit fine. Loose gravel pad w/ Concrete Driveway.

Primitive - No Water / Power (All Sites)
Pet Friendly - Yes
Check in- Easy
Fire pit / ring - Yes
Picnic Table - Yes

Water Front w/ Water access - Yes. Though, not all sites have easy access. However, there is a swimming area and a boat ramp at the front of the park.

Lake Lanier is beautiful with a ton of water recreation. These sites allow you to bring your own vessel or observe while you relax. Though the lake is open all night, the waterway activity settles down at a decent time and does not provide any unwanted noise at night.

Privacy levels depend on where you book. Some are considered buddy sites. The website explains this well.

Site 1 - 5 you can enjoy both sunset and sunrise views. While 6-9 is more of a sunrise scene.

Very peaceful, very clean, very popular. Book your trip now. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again."
