"A place where you're in the city, yet you can walk through an old growth forest along the Rouge River and see a wide variety of wildlife. Their are bridges and even a fish ladder that allows the fish to migrate upstream. Also, along this trail, you can get a glimpse of the Henry Ford Fairlane estate along with its powerhouse that Henry Ford and Thomas Edison designed. The Rouge River Gateway trail starts right now at Michigan Ave and connects with the Hines Drive trail. This trail offers many natural sights and a large amount of space for exercise for the family fun"

"It's very hard to get kids outdoors these days. This trail is one of the very best I've come across by far! All it took was one time on the trail, and we have been hooked. Not only is it pretty long, so it's great for exploring. But also, full of wildlife! This trail isn't as full of humans, and right off of Michigan Ave. 10/10 stars
Anyone looking for a great wildlife trail, this is the place for you!"
