What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
McKoy Park Skatepark has seen recent renovations, leading to mixed reviews. While some appreciate the new transitions and improved flow, others find the layout and transition quality still lacking. Past concerns about debris and maintenance have been noted, emphasizing the need for pre-skate inspections. Despite varied opinions on the skatepark itself, the surrounding park offers family-friendly amenities.
"Pretty fire. Park got redone, so its not pre-fab ramps. Overall its still kinda shitty and small, but its fun with the right people."
Dan
"This City of Decatur park has a nice skatepark, swingsets for infants and bigger kids, two playscapes, restrooms and covered picnic tables. Lots of shade trees and a basketball court."
Phillip Ozell
"Don't bother. Flat is a mess and all the ramps are trashed. One had what I only could imagine was motor oil on it and caused my board to slide out almost causing a bad wipe out. There is trash and metal pieces of fence all around so you can't even skate the flat. Don't bring your kids here. Ended up skating on the basketball courts since I made the trip.
EDIT: Got to skate it a little bit after its renovation. It was dark and cold so I want to go back during the day. Lots of transitions and lines. Huge improvement!"
