Affordable garden centers anywhere in the suburbs?

I live in the city, but I feel like the garden centers around me have a bit of a markup on their outdoor plants. Plus I'd just like to see what selection is available at nurseries I have not been to yet. I've gone to Meinke in Niles quite a bit - their selection is good but they…

Reviews Summary

The Des Plaines Farmers Market is celebrated for its exceptional butcher prices and high-quality meats, alongside a variety of fresh produce and delicious prepared foods like Al Pastor tacos. Reviewers consistently praise the friendly staff and vibrant atmosphere, making it a beloved local spot. While most experiences are positive, occasional concerns about pricing or product specifics, like the honeycomb tripe, have been noted.

"Best butcher around - ridiculously awesome prices on their meat, and great produce.

Also, special mention, they are beyond friendly. One of the workers saw me hemming and hawing over whether or not to buy a garlic spread from the shelf.

We ultimately decided not to, because we could make it at home for cheaper. As we were leaving, that same worker who had been stocking the shelves stopped us and handed me a container of their very own garlic spread to use for dinner that night.

It honestly made my day, and was so cool. Love these guys, love their quality, love their prices, and love their Vibe. Shop local and support a store that gives a damn!"

Dan Laramie

"Good selection and very fresh produce. Some items are a bit pricey but the quality is there. Nice place for everyday shopping."

Caleb O

"I tried to call you but the phone is constantly busy, and no one is answering. I purchased today fresh honey comb tripe in two packages. Expensive at $8.99/lb. After I remove it from the packing it's weight alone was almost 8 oz. I was very surprised. Both packages weigh less than specified. Soaked heavy in water!!!"
