What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Cullen Plaza for its beautiful carousel, scenic riverfront location, and family-friendly atmosphere. Many appreciate the free parking and clean facilities, making it an accessible and enjoyable spot for relaxation and recreation. Some note that carousel hours can be limited, and parking might be challenging during major city events.
"The GM building in downtown Detroit is one of those places you think you know until you actually walk inside. Everybody talks about the tall glass towers and the view of the river, but not many mention how the lobby feels like its own little city—shops, cars on display, random spots to sit and people-watch. It’s not just a business building; it kind of feels like a mix of a museum and a mall. At night the lights hit different, especially from the riverfront side—it almost looks futuristic. Parking can be a pain, but once you’re there it’s worth it just for the vibe and the energy around it."

"We had a nice time today. It was a little cold but it was so peaceful by the water. I can’t wait for spring."
Melanie Ward
"Beautiful in the early morning. Just to sit and think hear the birds chirping, boats in the background and the water hitting the pier . There is plenty of seating, and many are up on their morning run this morning. Everything is maintained so beautifully. Short walk to the GM Renaissance Center. And the Carousel 🎠 is picture perfect."
