"If you are going up to upper Dewey lake I highly recommend going to devels punch bowl. About halfway up, the trail goes above the treeline and the views are spectacular. I did this hike while visiting on a cruise ship and I had plenty of time. If you are coming in on a cruise ship then you can do this hike."

"The Devil's Punchbowl hike is a must do for an adventurer looking for a challenge. The hike will take upwards of 6 hours, round trip. Start on the Dewey Lake trail, and follow the signs that lead you to a steep path alongside a rushing waterfall. The trail will lead past Upper Dewey Lake, and into a boulder field--watch your step! Some of the rocks are loose and treacherously slippery when wet. If you are lucky and the weather is clear, you should be able to see the town below you. From the boulder field it is a short walk to the sparkling, enticing water nestled in the Punchbowl."
Naomi Helmer
"Nice to be able to say I made it to Devil’s Punch Bowl, but I think I could have skipped it. The best part about this hike is making it to Upper Dewey Lake and the view you get of Skagway."
