What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center for its dedication to animal welfare and conservation. The knowledgeable staff and the unique opportunity to interact with wolves are major highlights. While some interactive experiences are age-restricted, the guided tours offer an enriching educational experience for all ages. Booking in advance is highly recommended due to the popularity of tours and limited capacity.
"We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the wolves and the center saving these poor animals. So much care given to them. We had a mishap on our trip and Steve needed crutches. Kirk drove him around in a golf cart we called ahead. Kirk was amazing. Grace amazing overview on our tour. Thank you. Best of luck to all our four legged friends"

"I visited yesterday with my family (husband and kids 10 and 12) and we really enjoyed our tour. We would have loved an interactive experience but they start from 18yrs and above. Fair enough. The center is very focused on safety for visitors, its wolves and foxes, which has to be commended.
We tried to book an evening tour to watch the feeding but that was sold out I would recommend booking in advance so that you get your first choice. We had a tour at 2pm and many of the wolves were awake and interacting with the guide and treat giver so it was still good.
This is not the same as a zoo. You can't wander around at your own pace. You get a very informative tour that lasts around an hour. The pre-tour talk about wolves would be difficult for young kids to listen too. They talk about the fur trade, animal abuse and the declining number of wolves in the USA.
The tour itself is great. My kids loved learning about different types and wolves and being able to ask questions.
My highlight (spoiler coming up) was the howl. Our guide got us to howl at the wolves and...they howled back! It was a big hit with our group.
Overall I would recommend the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center but you know your own family, it might be fun for very young children."

"I have been here a few times! The staff is extremely knowledgeable. The animals seem extremely well cared for. The VIP experience has been my favorite so far. The fox experience was great, especially for my kids when they were younger."
