On the drive up towards Suncrest in Draper, you can find a trail that takes you directly up the eastern ridge of Point of the Mountain. At the top, you have an amazing view of the two valleys. It's possible to do it in under 30 minutes. Here's a picture I took of Lone Peak last night.

I live in this neighborhood. Love it up here! There are beautiful views from the point of the mountain. I've spent many evenings out there with just my dog and camera. And al the coyotes of course.
