Day 8 of not just living in Utah… but LIVING in Utah 🌄 Today’s adventure was Ann’s Trail in Draper, Utah — a great route for a hike, jog or bike in Corner Canyon. The full trail stretches 11.1 miles point-to-point, but we usually just hike ~30 minutes out and back. The views are incredible — you can see the Oquirrh Mountains, Antelope Island, the Salt Lake Valley, and the Wasatch Front. Almost any...

On the drive up towards Suncrest in Draper, you can find a trail that takes you directly up the eastern ridge of Point of the Mountain. At the top, you have an amazing view of the two valleys. It's possible to do it in under 30 minutes. Here's a picture I took of Lone Peak last night.

Check Trail Conditions

Avoid trails after rain or snowmelt, especially the Hidden Meadow trail. ☂️

Manage Waterfall Expectations

Ghost Falls may not always have significant water flow. Enjoy the hike for its own sake. :water_wave:

Best expansive view of the Wasatch from the Valley?

Or a good viewpoint from a hill that is expansive and shows the Wasatch? anywhere in the valley is fine. Trying to take some photos, have some ideas but would love some insight.

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Peak View Trailhead for its stunning panoramic views of both valleys and the variety of trails available. It's a popular spot for hikers and trail runners, with Lone Rock Trail and Ghost Falls being frequently mentioned. However, some hikers have found sections of the trail to be too close to residential construction noise, detracting from the natural serenity they sought.

"This is a great place to hop on a trail.
We went to Ghost Falls and that was a good hike. We also wandered on a few other trails before heading back to the cars."

"Though it had high traffic, this trail was really enjoyable and had beautiful views. My friend and I walked the trail out to the Ghost Falls trailhead, which had somehow been erroneously marked as "parking" on Google. It's not parking, as motor vehicles (specifically including e-bikes, which I don't fully understand) aren't allowed."

"I am writing this review from the perspective of a hiker, so please take that into consideration as you read it.

overall, the hike was very disappointing. I expected luscious waterfalls and a quiet getaway from the city rush.

The first 3 miles are fairly pleasant, walking among the scrub oak and the hills is very peaceful and enjoyable. Shortly after mile 3 you come to realize that you have just walked into the backyard of a luxury neighborhood. upon arriving at this point of the trail, the quiet, serenity of nature was gone and replaced with nearby sounds of tractors, engines and large construction trucks.

if you are hiking in order to get away from the the busy life of the city, this is not the right trail for you.

this trail is more for mountain bikers and runners that are looking for a quick getaway from their house.

I would return but as a trail runner next time."
