What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Grassy Point offers a unique natural space with historical industrial undertones, appreciated for its peaceful waterways and scenic bridge views. However, visitors note the lack of amenities like restrooms and the presence of litter, alongside concerns about ongoing restoration and safety in certain areas.
"Very interesting green space. I know by talking to other Duluth residents the city is trying to clean up old industrial areas. They mentioned it’s going to take years to clean up the waste from the lumber mill that once stood there. But the trail that goes through the green space comes to sudden end on an old paved road that’s no longer in service. It’s weird to walk right next to a coal energy plant with little to no barrier. However, I was able to get a great video of the U.S. Highway 2 Bridge that connects Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin! No public restrooms on sight or nearby. No fence to protect people from rail yard butting up to the park. A poorly planned out green space."

"Nice short hike to some water ways. Interesting history about the lumber that floats up. Very peaceful.
Sadly others have been careless and have left garbage there. We picked up about 8 water bottles to recycle"

"Couple nice spots to get a photo or two in. I would give it 5 stars but it does need a little "TLC" the short trail just had some trash down it and a bike or six but other then that it was nice"
