What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Eagle Falls Trail for its beautiful waterfall and stunning views of Cumberland Falls, noting the unique rock formations. However, many caution that the trail is strenuous, with steep paths and inconsistent signage, making it challenging for some and requiring careful navigation.
"This is a beautiful hike! The trailhead starts right off of KY route 90, look for trail 9. You get a great view of Cumberland Falls from above but you have to veer off the trail to see it. The trail is well marked just follow the orange circles painted on trees and rocks. T"

"Beautiful! But difficult! Watch your footing! Prepare for wet trails. NO DOGS ALLOWED 😞 I wouldn't attempt to go past the first few steps if with children or if you have physical limitations. It is a lot of walking up-hill. And the signs are clear at first, then there are none. We went the wrong way and couldn't find the right way. When we finally did we were too exhausted to get to the falls. They definitely need signs or a way more detailed map in the beginning of the trail. We went the wrong way a couple of different times. We are not newbies at trails, either. Next time we will find a detailed map or find someone who could give us better instructions.
For experienced hikers who enjoy going up and up on a steep path, you're going to absolutely love it.
The waterfall is beautiful and viewable from the beach on the Cumberland Falls side. The rocks and mosses were so fascinating."

However, hikers should be prepared for the trail's difficulty. Signage can be inconsistent, leading some visitors to get lost, so having a map or clear directions is crucial. The footing can be tricky, especially on the rock plateaus and near the falls, and the trail can become wet. This trail is not recommended for those with significant physical limitations or very young children due to the demanding nature of the hike.
Despite the challenges, many find the effort worthwhile. The unique rock formations, mosses, and the sheer beauty of the falls make it a memorable outing.
