"Took NJ Transit train to NY on our first day not realising it’s better to take the train from Newark Airport where the hotel provides free shuttle.
Only 1 ticket machine on platform with a long line and it seems people aren’t sure how to use it!
We decided to board the train but approach the train conductor who was kind enough to tell us to board first. The train conductor finally came around but this time told us he will come back but he never did.
On our way back, we decided to stop at the airport instead of Elizabeth and this is due to the unsavoury characters that hangs around the station.
Could do with more ticket counters and benches"

"The speakers don't work. They need to have some better way of informing people about train delays. Perhaps a few screens with live train status? Also there aren't enough seats to sit here. Only a few benches. Just two tickets kiosks on the station? They have restrooms at the ticket counter downstairs but it's closed. Came here to board train to nyp waited for almost 2hrs as there was some delay. Got tired of waiting.Ended up taking an Uber. Donated $14."

"Station 🚉 could have been maintained in a better way. Platform and lifts stinks 😷 badly. You can catch Newark/NY from Track 1 and For Trenton from Track 4"
