What to do in/near Johnson City?
My bf and I are making a trip to JC for 4th of July weekend. We’ll be in town Friday-Sunday and I’d love some recommendations of some must-do things while we’re there! We really wanna squeeze in a few hikes, but I’ve read some trails are still closed from last year’s storm. Any…

Dog swimming spots!?
We are visiting for July 4th weekend with our dog. He’s a very good boy, 11 year old lab. He’s shy and prefers to keep to himself. We adopted him so he is still a bit weary of bigger dogs (he was attacked). He defiantly does not start fights or anything like that. I just know he…
What would you recommend to do around the Tri-Cities for a newcomer?
The title is the best way to phrase the question. I've lived here my whole life, but spent most of my time as a shut-in due to a violent stalker. Now that I've got that crisis sorted out for the most part, I want to explore where I live. What would you recommend?

Visitors rave about Blue Hole Falls, calling it one of the best waterfall areas they've encountered. The refreshing blue pools and scenic canyons are major highlights, offering a great connection with nature. While the hike down is steep and can be slippery, most find it manageable and well worth the effort for the stunning views and swimming opportunities.
"One of the best waterfall areas we’ve been to and we’ve seen a lot! This is easy to get to, the road is not long and parking is slim but not impossible. We were here on a weekday in October and there was no one there. The hike down is not easy but it’s very short. Most people could do it if you take your time. This is a series of waterfalls and you start at the top and make your way down the trail to see 3-4 amazing sights, canyons and pools. I could easy spend the day here, bring a picnic and relax. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"

"I feel like it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time. Great view met wonderful people. I was there two days in a row and had my daughter and my dogs, to go with me the second time. Awesome hike! Best connection with mother nature, and the big guy above!"
