What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the historic charm and architectural beauty of Downtown Elizabethtown, finding it a pleasant place for a leisurely stroll and to discover local shops. The town's connection to the movie 'Elizabethtown' adds a unique appeal for film enthusiasts. Some reviews mention a desire for more public access to local amenities like parks, but the core historic district experience is generally well-regarded for its character and welcoming atmosphere.
"I figured I'd take a walk and see what this massive new $29 million dollar Etown Sports Park I was forced to pay for is like. The first thing I noticed was that all the gates except the main one were locked. Next, I noticed every single playing field-even the lower quality off to the side ones-has signs saying I needed permission to use them. Odd, since I was forced to pay for them and it's public property. Every field also had a sign that said field closed.
I called the office-not getting through the first 5 or 6 days including voicemails left-to enquire about using one of the soccer fields with my son and was told there was no way for me to do so as it was rental only and I wasn't an out of town team with $$. I told the lady I was taxed to pay for this place and that it's public property-which she didn't admit until I prodded her several times about it-and I have every right to use it. Such a nice facility, shame that the plebs aren't allowed to use it. There should be some sort of a form we can fillout to use the field on non tournament days.
I understand they want to preserve the fields and this will be the argument made by them but they can do so while allowing the public access as well. Forced to pay for it, can't use it. Oh but you can walk around the pleb walking path and look at the fields you paid for but cannot use. They should take down the "Dedicated to the cirizens of etown sign" since the citizens aren't even allowed to use it. Insulting."

Thank you!
They have a small gift shop, if you want a t-shirt or other E-Town memorabilia."

"Not sure, was not there. I passed through Elizabethtown a lot, stop for gas and move on. My most memorable event is when my wife died there, Christmas Eve day, 12/24/2021."
