"What a wonderful little piece of history. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our tour guide Cleveland was extremely knowledgeable and made all these facts interesting. "We stopped in Elmira to see the grave of Samuel Clemens and noticed a statue of John Jones so stopped to look. The museum was unfortunately closed at the time of our visit but we read the marker and later found his and his families graves in the nearby cemetery."
Jeff Schmidt
"We found this museum on the map while looking at Woodlawn Cemetery across the street. I had not heard of John W Jones, but I'm glad we decided to drop in. Cleveland was manning the museum that day, and we ended up talking to him for about 2 hours. It's a very small house, and it looks quite rundown, but that's by design. The historians try to keep it as close to how it was during John's life as possible. Cleveland was incredibly personable and knowledgeable and gave us recommendations on other local places to visit. Great experience!"
