Visiting Corning in early December and looking for the best hiking trail nearby.
Don’t mind driving up to an hour to get there. Just looking for a place to enjoy a few hours outdoors with some decent views, if possible. Thanks! Edit: Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for their recommendations. I really appreciate it!

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tanglewood Nature Center and Museum is widely praised as a wonderful, free destination, especially for families and nature enthusiasts. Visitors appreciate the extensive trails and the opportunity to see native animals. However, some concerns have been raised regarding the size and enrichment of indoor animal enclosures.
"This place is a hidden gem, designed for children and animal loving adults. The animals all have names with a small amount of reading about each one. We enjoyed checking out the tree house and the displays of taxidermy. The gift shop had plenty to choose from. Outside, the aviation allowed us to get close to some large birds. Lots of native plants decorated the area. There were a couple of trails. We tried the small sensory trail and found deer tracks. Bring your lunch and eat at one of the picnic areas. Tanglewood is right around the corner from the soaring museum and the nostalgic amusement park. It would be easy to make a day of it!"

"I got into town too late for to see the nature center however, the trails are fantastic! The nature center closes at 4 pm, but you can use the trails until sundown. There's a nice variety of scenery, from ponds, to open meadows, to gorgeous overlooks, to cool shady trails surrounded by trees. I thought this would just be a good way to burn some time, but I ended up really enjoying it here. Bring bug spray and wear long pants as there are tall grasses here that may have ticks."
