What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Emerald Isle Woods Park for its peaceful, uncrowded atmosphere and beautiful shaded trails. The boardwalk to Bogue Sound, kayak launch, and clean facilities are frequently praised. While some trails can be a bit rooty and hilly, the overall experience is highly positive, making it a gem for nature lovers and families.
"Great way to get away from the busyness of the beach. There are several places to park. The very end is a drop off and handicapped parking spaces only. The bathrooms and first picnic area (with grills) are to the left after you walk through the handicapped parking spaces. The bathrooms are very clean. Along the trails are several benches and picnic tables to sit at. Most of the trails are covered with trees, so you can avoid the sun. The trails are well kept with a couple of places needing some upgrading. The dock has a place to put in kayaks, and some folx were fishing there. The outer loop, which is easier to navigate than some of the walking trails between, is one mile long with some inclines and declines. We saw several dogs while we were there."

"Nice, uncrowded trails. One trail has a boardwalk that leads to the Bogue Sound. The other trails meander through forest, some areas are a little hilly with many roots across the trails. Lots of birds. Has a bathroom a short walk from parking lot. Nice place to explore!"

"Emerald Isle Woods Park – Emerald Isle, NC
I had a wonderful time visiting Emerald Isle Woods Park. The trails are peaceful and shaded, making them perfect for a relaxing walk, and the boardwalk opens up to stunning water views that are worth the trip alone. I really appreciated how clean and well-maintained the park is, including the restrooms, which makes the whole experience more enjoyable.
There’s so much variety here—a 9-hole disc golf course, picnic tables, barbecue grills, and even water access for fishing or launching kayaks. It’s also pet-friendly, which is a big plus. The atmosphere is calm and never overcrowded, making it easy to simply slow down and enjoy nature.
This park is a true gem in Emerald Isle, and I’ll definitely be coming back again."
