Reviews Summary
Visitors praise West Tyson County Park for its peaceful atmosphere and diverse hiking trails, ranging from gentle riverside walks to challenging inclines. The scenic beauty, especially along the river and during autumn, is a major draw. However, some trails can be steep and rocky, making them less suitable for those with mobility issues.
"Good hiking, Chubb trail west end which connects to Castlewood to the east. Peaceful and parts along the river. Recommended."

"Great walking trail, mostly level ground with a few minor obstacles like crossing a creek on a log, a few slippery creek banks and some occasional rocky areas that are slick. Bikes allowed but never see them there. Trail follows along the rivers edge all the way to the west edge of Castlewood trail and rock beach (1.5 mile) or circle back and follow signs to the left (1 mile) to go through the huge wild grass meadow (.5 mile) near the train tracks to the parking area."
Brent Bantz
"There are hiking trails here, mostly rather steep and rugged. We hiked on the Chinkapin Trail and got a good workout there. We saw evidence of a larger waterfall in the creek near the entrance to the park in winter, but when we returned in the spring there were only small ones."
