On base museums
What on base museums are nice? Was at Fort McCoy for AT and stop by there and was amazed at how nice and big it was. Iβve also been to the one in New Jersey in a national guard beach donβt remember the name. It was very small but very put together.
Beautiful piece of history
The Army Transportation museum in Fort Eustis, VA has a nice collection of the earliest GP (Jeep) to include a well preserved folding βmuleβ https://mvmec.org/m274-mechanical-mule/#:~:text=The%20M274%20Mechanical%20Mule%20was,form%20of%20the%20M%2DGator.

"My grandfather lived in Eustis for a long while, he was very involved locally and he wrote articles, participate in local art fairs and events, and provided a lot of support this local museum. I love visiting because it reminds me of him and helps keep his memory alive. He contributed all of these figures, made of paper! I remember sitting in his house as he'd work on them and he'd explain what part he was doing next and that it was a very important project for the museum. He was an artist, photographer, writer, and was so beloved. The tour guide is verb thorough and takes her time to explain the history of the museum (formerly a family home). If you want to take a step back in time and enjoy local history, please stop in. And take a moment to enjoy my grandpa's art while you're there. π"

"Very neat place! Built by the original owner and an official National Historic Landmark. The story of the house, city and region is really neat! Our guide was very informative and patient, even though we had some kids in tow that were growing impatient.
Worth a visit!"

"Your visit includes an impressive guided tour of rooms dedicated to life in the past as well as the original occupants personal lives. Including many of their possessions on display in this beautiful and true Florida "plucked from history" home. The cost, just make a donation to the museum at the end. I think you'll find this one of the high points to your visit in this part of Florida enjoy!"
