"I stopped by the Grosse Point Lighthouse on Sheridan Road, and it turned out to be a really peaceful and interesting place to visit. The area is quiet, clean, and well maintained, with plenty of space to walk around and enjoy the lakefront. The lighthouse itself looks great up close — the structure is in good condition, and the surrounding grounds have a calm, almost park-like atmosphere.
It’s a great spot for a quick break on the road, photos, or just to walk around for a few minutes. Parking was easy, and the pathways were clear and accessible. Even though it’s not a large attraction, the location feels relaxing and gives a nice view of the shoreline.
Overall, this lighthouse is a solid stop if you’re nearby and want a quiet place with a bit of history and good scenery. I’d come back again for a short walk or a photo stop."

"Built in 1873, lit in March 1874 as an essential navigation aid after the tragic Lady Elgin sinking prompted demand for a stronger presence north of Chicago. Staffed by three keepers and a laborer in its heyday; automated in 1934, then decommissioned during WWII (1941–46). The City of Evanston reactivated it in 1946 as a private aid to navigation. Grounds are free and open year-round; guided tower tours are available on weekends (June–September) with admission in the ranges of $8–15."

"The museum was closed for the season but I may go in the summer and write a better review. The area around the lighthouse is nice and don’t forget the beach too. The beach had a small mound that you could walk on because it’s pretty thick. ( don’t really get your hopes up because I don’t know if that melted or it could only happen very rarely.) It’s cool how a French explorer may had camped here. ( sorry if this review isn’t how I make my others)"
