Can gators regrow legs or their tail?? Nope! As you guys might already know from my videos with Tadpole the baby gator! This video just came up in my memories from last year at Everglades Outpost. The outpost has recently posted that they’re selling the property and moving, and that they’re bringing Casper with them. —-Reminder- Casper lives at the outpost, he is not my gator, and I now have my ow...

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the incredible wildlife viewing opportunities, especially alligators and diverse birdlife. The Shark Valley tram tour and airboat rides are popular highlights, offering unique perspectives of the wetlands. Some visitors noted that the park can be very dry at times, and finding specific tour times or assistance could be challenging.

"Our first time in Everglades National Park hit me like a warm, wet blanket… in the worst way. I’m a cold-weather person, and the humidity makes me feel instantly sluggish, but the moment we drove into the park, that wide-open grassland stretched out like a quiet green ocean and I had to admit it was stunning.

The only thing more enthusiastic than the scenery was the mosquito and biting gnat population and this wasn’t even aggressive bug season. We stayed two nights at the T-Loop campground and that was enough for us. We tried a campfire, but the bugs wouldn’t allow it to happen… twilight (dawn and dusk) is when they’re out in force, and once the sun started dropping we basically called it and stayed inside, thankful our campsite had electric. So plan your hikes and hangs accordingly; my blood was basically on the bugs’ subscription plan: unlimited donations, no opt-out.

Still, kayaking through the mangroves was genuinely peaceful; we saw a half-dozen crocs and loads of birds, plus resident croc Freddy and his offspring, which was pretty cool. The Coastal Prairie Trail was basically mosquito alley, but Royal Palm early in the morning was straight-up beautiful. And yeah, parts of it felt surprisingly commercialized… nothing like the wild, cinematic vibe of the Nile or Belize, but the Everglades still has its own kind of magic. It’s also one national park I’m okay not returning to - only because of the bugs and humidity!"

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Everglades National Park – Florida’s Wild Heart and America’s Largest Subtropical Wilderness

Everglades National Park is one of the most unique, powerful, and ecologically important national parks in the United States, and visiting it as a Florida local gave me a renewed appreciation for this extraordinary landscape. This is not just a park—it’s a living ecosystem known as the “River of Grass,” made up of endless wetlands, sawgrass marshes, cypress prairies, and mangrove forests that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Wildlife encounters here feel authentic and unforced. From wading birds and turtles to alligators resting quietly along the water’s edge, the Everglades offer incredible opportunities for wildlife watching, photography, and peaceful exploration. The stillness of the wetlands, paired with dramatic skies and reflections in the water, makes this park especially rewarding for visitors who take their time.

During my visit, I also observed areas affected by a controlled (prescribed) burn, which is an important and intentional land management practice used by the National Park Service. These burns help restore native vegetation, reduce wildfire risk, and improve wildlife habitat. Seeing new growth emerging from burned areas was a powerful reminder of how resilient and carefully managed this ecosystem truly is.

The park is well maintained, with informative signage, knowledgeable rangers, and trails that allow visitors to experience the Everglades responsibly. Sunrises and sunsets here are absolutely stunning, with soft light, wide-open views, and a sense of calm that’s hard to find elsewhere.

Everglades National Park is essential for anyone wanting to understand the real Florida—beyond beaches and cities. It’s a place of quiet beauty, environmental significance, and unforgettable natural encounters. Highly recommended for nature lovers, photographers, birders, and anyone who values wild spaces.

"I visited Everglades National Park and was really impressed by the vast, unique landscape. The air felt fresh, and it was amazing to see the mix of wetlands, sawgrass, and wildlife up close.

I did a short walk along one of the trails and even spotted a few birds and alligators from a safe distance, which was exciting. The park felt peaceful and not crowded, making it easy to enjoy nature at a relaxed pace.

Overall, it’s a great place to experience Florida’s natural beauty. I’d recommend it for anyone who enjoys being outdoors and seeing wildlife in its natural habitat."
