What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the CT Audubon Center at Fairfield Larsen Sanctuary for its peaceful atmosphere and opportunities to see wildlife, especially the rescued raptors and indoor reptile exhibits. It's considered an excellent spot for easy nature walks, particularly enjoyable for families. Some note that trails can be marshy and signage could be clearer in places, and cell reception is poor.
"It's a pretty location, flat terrain, a little marshy in places. If you're looking for a challenging hike this isn't going to be it. If you want an easy hike with the bonus of a wildlife sanctuary to visit at the end this is your spot."
Samantha Dueck
"Almost don't want to rate this place or give it a review because part of the charm of it is how quiet it is. Great for nature walks. Some of the trails are less than perfectly marked, and cell reception is spotty, so make sure to take a picture of the map at the entrance before venturing off."
Robert Marshall
"Great sanctuary as well as trails. The chambuca trail (main one) was well kept and wide. We saw deer, turtles and titmouse along our walk. The main building has various reptiles (turtles, tarantula) as well as bird supplies and other items for bird lovers. The bird sanctuary had hawks, owls and vultures that were rescued and unfortunately cannot be released into the wild due to their injuries. We'll definitely be back again to walk the other trails!"
