"Parking fisher‘s gap was incredibly easy! Lots of parking especially if you get there early. I parked there to take the Rose River Trail which I H I highly, highly recommend! Great for many ages and abilities as long as you have the endurance. If you’re looking for a bit of an easier hike you can take the fire Road and stay right at the fork. You’ll reach a beautiful waterfall just shy of 1 mile in and then you could turn around and hike back out with limited effort. Or, drop down onto the Rose River Trail for an additional 4 mile loop that follows the river for much of the way, however be prepared for a steady and steeper hike back out this way!"

"Gorgeous hike with tons to see! We parked at Fishers Gap and crossed to the trail. I'd reccomend taking the trail to the left first and getting the steep and rocky climb out of the way. The end of the loop is a fire road so it's paved and easier to climb when you're tired! I would also reccomended taking the hike to the top of the second waterfall."

Exploring the Rose River Falls Trail
For a shorter, less strenuous option, hikers can take the fire road to the left from the trailhead. This path leads to a lovely waterfall less than a mile in, perfect for those seeking a quick scenic reward. For a more immersive experience, adventurers can continue onto the main Rose River Trail loop. This section follows the river for a significant portion, offering more picturesque views and the chance to encounter natural slides and swimming holes. Be prepared for a steeper climb back out if you complete the full loop.
Key considerations for this hike include wearing sturdy footwear, bringing plenty of water, and checking weather conditions. The trail can be slippery, especially near the waterfalls, so caution is advised. Many visitors recommend tackling the steeper sections first to get them out of the way, leaving the easier fire road for the return journey.
