The constant cool temperature makes it a perfect summer escape. Some find the terrain challenging, and emphasize the absolute necessity of bringing multiple reliable light sources and warm clothing.
"100% worth the visiting! The drive down the dirt road was easy in my Honda Civic.
Bring an extra light in case your main light goes out or stops working.
Dirt parking lot with pit toilets. Easy walk to the lava tube entrance. It’s about 3/4 mile long if you want to go all the way back, which I recommend.
Perfect place to cool down for a couple hours and escape the summer heat."

"Went here 5 times already, and I haven't been let down yet. It is an amazingly beautiful trek, so long as you bring a light! My kids also had a fun time here, but make sure to bring enough water for everyone."

"This is a super fascinating piece of geologic history. The lava tube is under a picturesque pine forest and is entered by a small collapse near the surface. Just the aroma of the pine forest is worth the ride in on the dirt forest roads. If you are fit and brave you will have an awesome adventure exploring the lava tunnel. Bring good foot wear, three sources of light and extra batteries. Also warm clothes as it's very cool in the tunnel. There is nothing like the feeling of being deep under ground and free to explore at your own pace. Five out of five stars for the brave and adventurous folks who just need to go where it feels like another world! One last comment. Yes there is danger here. As the footing is rough and the rocks are sharp, also there is the possibility of rock fall so be aware of conditions of the tunnel ceiling. Explore at your own risk... As all explorations should be."
