I hope everyone’s in the mood for a morning walk through the cemetery! This morning we took the drive to Glenwood Cemetery in Houston and it was absolutely amazing. I could have walked around all day if it weren’t for the heat. We’ll definitely be coming back next year earlier in the morning so we can spend a little more time. . . . . . #glenwoodcemetery #glenwood #cemetery #cemeteries #cemeteryph...

Bradley, Mayor of DC; Rebecca Wright Bonsal, Civil War heroine; Constantine Brumidi, painter of frescos in the Capitol Building. Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Glenwood Cemetery for its beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and rich historical significance. Many appreciate the well-maintained grounds and the opportunity to explore unique funerary art. Some note that certain areas could benefit from more restoration, but the overall sentiment is highly positive.

"We visited Glenwood Cemetery today as we were on a biking history tour. This cemetery is full of rich history and many of the well known and famous people of Flint, Michigan such as, C.S. Mott, Fenton, Bridgman, Hemphill and even Harry Potter are buried here. Well, not the Harry Potter from the movies. There are various types of headstones 🪦, different architecture styles and cemetery structures such as Egyptian, Greek and Gothic if you know what to look for as well as, white bronze headstones. Make sure to visit the headstone, monument and tribute to the Michigan School of the Deaf. There is also an eagle’s nest located in the trees, but I won’t say where to protect the nest. The cemetery is paved and is pleasant to walk through although the terrain is a bit hilly. This cemetery is well worth exploring."

"Glenwood is a beautiful, well-maintained, historical cemetery. I have no loved ones buried at Glenwood but I enjoy visiting the place every so often because it is so peaceful and full of wildlife and horticulture. I appreciate the staff and volunteers that keep this place clean and relevant in the Flint community."

Andrew the Great

"Very well maintained cemetery for how old the plots are and the history of flint that buried within its property lines. If you love old cemeteries this is a must stop for your list. A+++ for the care but need a few to stones fixed and stood back upright and wouldn’t be hard to do with the right equipment"
