What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Fontana Beach is praised for its beautiful, clean, and warm waters, ample shade, and a fun sand mountain for kids. However, visitors frequently point out that the entrance and parking fees are quite expensive, and parking can be difficult to find, especially on weekends, leading some to question the overall value.
"My family and I really love this beach, it's beautiful, there's a lot of shade from the trees, the water is clean and always quite warm. There's a big, beautiful mountain of sand, which the kids really like. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because, firstly, the parking is quite expensive, considering the paid entrance fee, which also costs a lot. Plus, parking is very hard to find, especially on weekends. We drive all the way from Chicago, and it's often a shame that we waste a lot of time looking for parking. But overall, we like everything there, if they made the prices even lower, it would be perfect!"

"This is a nice beach but 12 dollars per person and 5 dollars per hour for parking - not really worth it! Drive to Illinois beach state park and save your money!"

"Parking is hilariously expensive for such a small town, but that’s what tourist traps are all about. The beach is large, well groomed and appears to be combed daily. Beautiful views and soft sand allow for volleyball, sand castles, swimming or just relaxing. Several nearby cafes and ice cream shops pepper the area as well during the main summer season that close or drastically cut hours following Labor Day."
