What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise the Jungle Queen Riverboat for its scenic views of Fort Lauderdale's waterways and impressive mansions, along with the entertaining Polynesian show on the dinner cruise. While the food receives mixed reviews, the overall experience is considered fun and family-friendly, with many recommending it as a classic South Florida attraction. Some note that seating can be rushed and the boat can get warm.
"The ride was lovely. To get a small glimpse of how the other side lives looks beautiful. The all you can eat barbecue was good. The chicken strips were salty but the ribs were good. The after dinner show was great. The island where everything took place is beautiful. Of course all the staff were pleasant. Purchase tickets on Groupon."

"I had an incredible time on the Jungle Queen Riverboat tour! The views from the river were absolutely stunning, offering picturesque scenes of the waterways and surrounding nature that made every moment visually spectacular. The highlight was definitely the Polynesian dance performance at the island—vibrant, energetic, and so engaging. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was lively, making it a memorable outing. The only downside was the food, which was just okay and could use some improvement, but it didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment. Highly recommend this tour for the amazing views and cultural entertainment!"

"Fun experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and amusing. It's best to arrive early if you want a good seat with a view. The drink prices were about what you would expect. The bbq dinner was average, the weight staff was friendly, and service was quick.
Cons: There was no air flow on the boat, so sitting on it for 30+ mins in the heat waiting for departure, surrounded by 100 people got hot and smelly. It would have been nice if they had fans to circulate the air. Cup holders on the seats would have been beneficial. Also, the bathroom stalls were very snug.
Overall we had a great time and I would recommend the tour"

Choosing Your Jungle Queen Cruise
The Dinner & Show Cruise is a more comprehensive experience, typically departing in the evening. This cruise includes an all-you-can-eat BBQ dinner served on a private tropical island, followed by a lively Polynesian dance performance. It's a popular choice for families and couples seeking an evening of entertainment and dining.
When deciding, consider your available time, budget, and what you hope to get out of the experience. Both cruises offer unique perspectives of Fort Lauderdale's charm and beauty.
Navigating the Dinner & Show Experience
Following dinner, the island comes alive with a Polynesian dance performance. This is often cited as a major highlight, with vibrant costumes and energetic routines. Be prepared to participate; travelers mention being encouraged to join in on dances like the hula.
It's important to note that seating for both dinner and the show is not assigned, which can lead to a bit of a rush to secure good spots. Arriving early is key to getting the best vantage point for the performance and a comfortable seat for your meal.
Tips for a Comfortable Cruise
Comfortable seating is also a consideration. While the views are spectacular, some reviews mention that cup holders on seats would be beneficial, and the bathroom stalls can be quite snug. Opting for an earlier sightseeing cruise can help avoid the peak heat of the day.
For the best views during the sightseeing portion, particularly when the guide is pointing out specific homes, the left-hand side of the boat often offers a clearer perspective. However, regardless of your seat, the overall experience is designed to be enjoyable and scenic.
