I need to go back to the Fort Smith Museum of History and spend a day looking through all the archives. The museum has a fascinating radio exhibit complete with double turntable radio station set-up that's a mirror image of the studio where I cut my teeth at KXRJ. I'm not sure if they're serving from the soda fountain again, but if they are, you absolutely must get a milkshake or an ice cream soda...

Reviews Summary

Visitors generally find the Fort Smith Museum of History to be an interesting and worthwhile stop, particularly for its unique 1920s soda fountain and interactive exhibits that appeal to families. While some reviewers noted a less welcoming initial interaction with staff and a desire for more depth in certain historical areas like Native American history, the overall sentiment is positive regarding the value and engaging nature of the museum's content.

"Had a great time. They had some very interesting display about the local history. The young lady working there (she was doing everything) was super helpful and very nice."

Harry Alderman

"We came from Texas specifically to learn more about history but when we tried to ask about something the staff in the front continued their conversation about someone balding completely disregarding us.
The items there were cool and we loved the kid friendly activities just wished it was a little more welcoming. As other reviews stated it’s kind of random and not too much about Native Americans or trail of tears"

Aide Y Flores

"Nice museum and people at the front desk were busy but nice. Unfortunately no tap and pay but that was fine."
