Reviews Summary

Visitors find Francis Scott Key's grave to be a historically significant and peaceful site, offering a connection to a key figure in American history. While the grave itself is modest, the surrounding cemetery and cathedral provide a rich context for reflection. Some visitors note the recent tragic events involving the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which have brought his name to wider attention.

"As an individual who is well aware of the anecdotal history of the City of Fredeick dating back to the early 18th century and the history of the War of 1812, with numerous connections to the legacy of Frederick, Maryland and Francis Scott Key, I was in awe to find the time during my short stay in Frederick to visit the grave, and this historical memorial and the cathedral where he would have worshipped persistently in the late 18th Century, whixh also included his prominent gravestone, Present since his demise in 1844, after he had lived for 67 years, from his origins in 1779, when he was born to John Ross Key and Ann Phoebe Penn Dagworthy to his significance in the War of 1812 and his 1814 writing of the Star Spangled Banner in the aftermath of the happenings of the Battle of Fort McHenry, conveying a meaning of the trials and tribulations in battle, and his experiences from the basis of his role in the British prisoner exchange involving Scott Key to his later career up through his 1844 demise, this memorial itself is meant to honour the legacy and life contributions of Francis Scott Key in more ways compared to his modest contributions in the War of 1812.

Despite the fact that I primarily only toured the general Memorial through a driving tour, I will be returning in the general future to this gracious monument to see the elements upfront of the Monument."
