It was the most honorable, beautiful ceremony I’ve ever witnessed—one that marked the end of our time together, but not the end of his presence in my life. Grief forever changed me. It taught me to love deeper, to hold tighter, and to liv...

"A beautiful national cemetery. I would recommend anyone visiting the Fredericksburg battlefield to spend some time here. The rolling hills of Marye's Heights make for a very tranquil and peaceful setting to reflect upon the sacrifice of all the Union soldiers buried here."

Christopher McMillan

"The people there were very friendly, and they happily gave us a tour. 😊 Beautiful area, and history wise, it’s incredible!"

Isabelle J

"I remembered visiting my Uncle (Clarence) Peyton Tyler's grave here years ago with my Aunt Lillian Tyler. He is also one of the few African Americans buried at this national cemetery. He is buried 3 rows behind the gravestone #6688 of Charles Sprout (former slave) who served with 1st US Colored Cavalry.
Thanks to National Park Ranger for his assistance, very friendly to work with."
